Brief Life History
Firstly, a bit about me, to help set the scene. I’m writing this as I approach my 25th birthday in a few days time. I was born to Christian parents in Lincoln , UK in 1987, and have lived near to Lincoln for all of my life. When I was 11, I went to William Farr School at Welton, around 6 miles outside of Lincoln itself. It was during the first couple of years that it became apparent that I was not normal. At the age of 13, I was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, although it wasn’t until much later that I’ve been able to sit down and realise just how different I was to many of my peers, and just how it affected me, and maybe even how, with the experience I have gained since, things could have been a little different.
After my GCSE’s at 16, I stayed on into AS levels, but by Christmas, I had started to look at other things. My Dad ran his own garage in the centre of Lincoln , and had done since 1992 (when I was 5 years old). During 2003, he was offered North Street Garage at Nettleham (where we lived since 1994), and the decision was taken by my parents to accept the offer, and so in June 2004, the two businesses were combined into one at Nettleham, and we are still there today. After sitting my AS levels, I joined the company that very afternoon, and have been working with my parents ever since. I studied AAT (Accounting) at Lincoln College between 2004 and 2008, and always have had the main responsibility for running the reception area and buying in the parts required for the mechanics/technicians to repair your cars!
